bids for babies

Bids For Babies was an online charity fundraising and awareness page run by me and my husband Andy, which was set up in early 2013 to help us raise money for causes close to our hearts through an online auction – and which turned out to be lot of fun too! You can read all about why we started Bids For Babies here.

We most recently supported Tiny Lives – the charitable fund which provides much needed financial support to the Special Care Baby Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne. The SCBU is based in the hospital where I had Joseph so was a very important local charity for us to support. Although Joe was strong enough that he didn’t need special care when he was born, we wanted to raise money to help those little babies who do need it.

We held a special Christmas Auction in December 2013 followed up by a text giving campaign, #Text4TinyLives, and raised £500 for Tiny Lives. We added another £250 to this through participation in the 2014 Great North Run.

Our first auction for Tommy’s was brilliant fun, raising over £1100, and we were thrilled to do the same for Tiny Lives, so thanks to all those who got behind us and got involved!

When we aren’t actively fundraising, the Bids For Babies page is used to help spread awareness and show support for our chosen charities and related causes, so please give us a like today!

I also volunteer for MAMA Academy as their General Manager and am honoured to be a member of the board of trustees. We are a small charity doing great work promoting positive pregnancy, making sure mums and midwives alike are educated to ensure more babies arrive safely. Please take a look at our website and Facebook page to see how we can help you – or how you can help us!
